Your Inexpensive Wedding Shower Party

unique wedding shower planning? Are you having fun or is the process driving you crazy? If you think of planning the wedding shower as something fun to do, it will make the whole thing that much easier for you from the invitations to the food to the location.

If the bride to be would like a casual affair, choose a friend or family member home or even select a nice outdoor venue such as the park. Your bride and guests will enjoy your more laid back approach to the wedding shower. However, if your bride to be has been imaging her wedding for most of her life, then you’ll have to choose a more upscale location for the wedding shower. Think hotel, country club, or party hall. Be sure to check the fine writing on the contract before you sign it so that you’re not exposed to unexpected costs at the end of the party.

After you have the venue selected, turn your attention to what you plan to serve the guests. The laid back affair would do nicely with a finger-food selection or buffet of the bride’s favorite foods or you can theme the food to match the bridal shower party theme. If your bride to be is Italian, providing an Italian assortment of foods and wines is certainly food to consider. For the more upscale affair, get an idea of what the bride prefers in the way of food, then book an appointment to meet with the party planner or caterer to decide on how the food should be served. Do you want the guests to be pampered? Go with the sit-down lunch or dinner. Is the event in the evening? A fantastic selection of wines, cheeses and fruits served by waiters would be a nice choice.

Now you have everything you need to get the invitations out the door. If the wedding shower is going to be a surprise, try to get a copy of the guest list for the wedding then sit down with the mother of the bride and mother of the groom to see who should be invited to the wedding shower. If the wedding shower is not a surprise, work with the bride to nail down who she would like to attend.

Finally, the wedding shower decorations. Decorate the hall or location in the wedding colors that the bride has selected. Drape the guest tables first with white table clothes then with a second table cloth the wedding color. The cake may also be decorated in the same color scheme for a unifying look. Choose inexpensive wedding shower favors that complement the wedding shower theme and colors.

That wasn’t so bad was it? When planning a wedding shower or any event, breaking down what needs to be done into smaller segments makes the process much less stressful. Enjoy your hard work at the shower.
