Wedding Toasts - Writing Wedding Toasts To Remember
Wedding toasts and speeches are usually one of the most memorable parts of any wedding. Sometimes the toasts are funny and sometimes they just plain make everyone cry. It really depends on who is giving the toast and his or her personality. A happy go lucky best man will probably give a light hearted toast while a more serious maid of honor may give a sentimental toast.
Are you nervous about writing and then delivering a wedding toast or speech? Public speaking gets the nerves rocking and rolling in the best of us but there are a few ways to tame the nervousness you may be experiencing. First of all, if you are extremely nervous the toast doesn’t have to be 5 minutes of you talking non-stop. You may want to provide an introduction then select a song that really tells the story about you and the person you are toasting. This way you let the song do the “talking” for you.
Are you one of the lucky ones that have no fear and just need some a little help writing the toast or speech? Start with the internet and do some research. Think about how you normally speak and stick to something you’re comfortable saying. We all know what KISS means. Keep the speech or toast simple. If you usually just tell it like it is, then just tell it like it is. Don’t try to impress anyone with long run on sentences or words we all have to look up to know what you’re really trying to say.
Remember who is in the audience. You really don’t want to go into honeymoon activities with little kids or grandparents in the audience do you?
Finally, practice. It may sound simple but it will really help you get ready to raise that glass of champagne. The more you practice, the easier it will be to deliver a toast or speech that everyone will remember along with the unique wedding guest favors the guests take home
