Two Themes: Easter Craft Ideas

One of the major celebrations reflected on the Christian calendar is the celebration of Easter. Easter is that celebration that reflects on the suffering, passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In addition Easter is celebrated by individuals in different ways. Specifically, two of those ways can be the spiritual celebration which can be solemn. In addition, Easter is a time for children when they celebrate the arrival of the Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunts and the eating of chocolate.

Therefore, if considering the construction of Easter crafts, there are many Easter craft ideas that can follow specific themes. Two of those specific Easter craft ideas would be one with a spiritual emphasis and one with a less solemn theme.

Spiritual Easter Craft Ideas

Because the essence of Easter is a spiritual celebration of various noble meanings, there are many spiritual Easter craft ideas that can be utilized. Some of those spiritual meanings are victory over defeat, love over hate, forgiveness over revenge, death over life, etc.

Therefore, to make the creating of a craft even more meaningful it would be appropriate to incorporate Easter craft ideas that are spiritual or capture these meanings through creative methods. For example, if a child's craft were being planned, the simple items needed to create the craft would be wooden crafting sticks, a religious picture, a length of yarn and glue. By simply gluing the sticks together in a frame like fashion over the religious picture, the yarn could be looped over the top stick and the simple Easter message would be in the framing of a religious picture that the younger person could hang in their bedroom.

Another spiritual Easter craft idea could be the creating of a cross from a plastic template. Generally, these templates have holes in them and various colors of wool could be weaved through the template to make a beautifully decorated bookmark or stand alone craft.

Secular Easter Craft Ideas

Additionally, Easter has secular counterparts. Some of those counterparts include the Easter Bunny, plastic eggs, giving of chocolate, Easter baskets, etc. If looking for preschool Easter crafts this type of theme may prove to be more beneficial.

For example, an Easter card can be made by the child. This particular craft can have a handmade picture of a bunny rabbit, Easter egg or other appropriate Easter symbol on the outside of the card. Then the preschooler simply prints on the inside their special greeting to a family member. This type of Easter craft idea can be meaningful to the child, but especially meaningful to the parent, grandparent or other individual who receives this crafted Easter card.
