General Rules For An Easter Egg Hunt
When it comes time for Easter, many people think of planning an Easter egg hunt for a group of children. But, before you go planning the hiding spots for the eggs to challenge the kids, there are a few rules for both an indoor, and outdoor Easter egg hunt that will help ensure safety and fun for all involved. After you hide the eggs, have another person go around trying to find them. If an adult is having trouble finding the eggs, so will the children. Be aware that children get frustrated easily. Have a special prize ready for children who find the least amount of eggs.
Indoor Easter Egg Hunt Rules
These are the general rules for a safe indoor Easter egg hunt. Keep the hiding places for eggs as far from electrical outlets and plugs as possible. Keep the eggs away from light sockets. Keep the eggs away from glass. Don't hide the eggs in, on, or under glass. Try to hide the eggs at, or below, the eye level of the children participating Try to keep the Easter egg hunt on one or two levels at most. Make sure the children know the eggs are all inside the building.
Outdoor Easter Egg Hunt Rules
These are the general rules for a safe outdoor Easter egg hunt. Do not hide the eggs within tress or tree branches. Do not hide eggs in holes. Watch that eggs do not get hidden in thorny or poisonous plants such as roses or poison sumac. Do not put the eggs within any animal's home, feeding area or play area. Watch that you do not put eggs on freshly treated grass or other surfaces which may cause health problems if the children get too close. Do not place eggs near any road surface. Do not place any eggs under cars or motorized equipment such as lawnmowers or tractors.
If you can follow these simple rules to egg hiding places, then conducting a fun and safe Easter egg hunt will be gaurnteed. If you want to ensure that the eggs are safe try using plastic Easter eggs instead of the real eggs. If you do choose real eggs, try dyeing them first to make them colorful and easier to find. If any eggs are damaged or broken, dispose of them as soon as possible to avoid any children harm.
